# Table View

> Search, export and configure a table.

Open a table from the **Tables** tab in the **Workshop** to reach its table view. The **Table** tab shows the table's rows in a grid, with a search bar and actions above it. The **Settings** tab holds the table's configuration.

## Search bar

The search bar above the grid filters the rows shown. It accepts three kinds of input.

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Text">
    Type a term and press **Enter**. Every column except `id` is searched, and matches are highlighted in the grid.

    For example, `Lisbon` finds every row with "Lisbon" in any column.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Ask AI">
    Describe the rows you want in plain words and click **Ask AI**. The request is turned into a SQL query, shown in the search bar so you can check or edit it, and run.

    For example, `customers in Lisbon who signed up this year`.

    Shortcut: **⌘+Enter** (Mac) or **Ctrl+Enter** (Windows).
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="SQL">
    Start typing `SELECT` and the search bar switches to SQL mode. See [SQL Queries](/platform/tables/using/sql) for what queries can do.

    For example:

    ```sql theme={null}
    SELECT * FROM customers WHERE city = 'Lisbon' ORDER BY signed_up_at DESC
    ```
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Exporting

The **Export** button next to the search bar downloads the rows in the current view as a CSV file: every row of the table, or only the rows that match the current search, filter or SQL query.

<Note>
  CSV files store every value as text, so column types aren't saved in the export. If you import the file again, types are detected from the values. File columns export as platform file links (`spot://...`), not the files themselves, and come back as Text.
</Note>

To move a table to another workspace along with the flow that uses it, export the flow with its dependencies. See [Exporting and importing flows](/platform/tables/using/flows#exporting-and-importing-flows).

## Settings tab

<Frame>

</Frame>

The **Settings** tab is where you configure the table:

* **General**: edit the table's name and description. The **Identifier** is shown here and can't be changed after creation.
* **Columns**: add, edit, reorder and delete columns. See [Column types](/platform/tables/creating-tables#column-types).
* **Export**: download every row of the table as CSV, regardless of the current search.
* **Danger Zone**: clear every row from the table, or delete the table and all its data.

<Warning>
  Clearing and deleting a table can't be undone. A table that other tables reference can't be deleted until you remove those reference columns.
</Warning>
