1. What are Data & Files Nodes?

Data & Files nodes provide comprehensive capabilities for transforming, processing, and manipulating both data and files within flows. They handle file conversions, content extraction, data formatting, and complex transformations that prepare information for downstream processing or final output.
These nodes bridge the gap between raw data inputs and processed information, enabling flows to work with diverse data formats, extract meaningful content, and transform information into the required structures for analysis, storage, or presentation.

2. Available Node Types

Data & Files nodes automatically handle format conversion and validation, ensuring seamless processing across different file types and data structures.

3. Core Capabilities

Document Extraction - Advanced document processing that extracts text, images, and metadata from various file formats including PDF, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and presentation files with support for both text extraction and OCR for scanned documents.
OCR capabilities enable processing of scanned documents and images with text, making previously inaccessible content available for analysis.
File Generation - Create files dynamically from text, data, or templates. Generate PDFs, spreadsheets, documents, and other file formats based on flow processing results with support for complex formatting and multi-part file creation. Intelligent Data Selection - Use semantic understanding to identify and extract relevant data columns, fields, or sections based on descriptions rather than exact names, enabling robust data processing across varying data structures.
Semantic data selection eliminates the need to hardcode column names, making workflows more resilient to data structure changes.
Template Processing - Fill templates with dynamic data, supporting complex layouts, conditional content, and multi-format output for automated report generation and document creation. Custom Code Execution - Run custom Python code within flows for specialized data processing, calculations, or transformations that require custom logic beyond standard node capabilities. Supports package installation and variable injection for complex operations.
Use custom code execution judiciously to maintain flow security and performance. Consider standard nodes first for common operations.
API Integration - Make HTTP requests to external services with support for all standard methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH), custom headers, authentication, and response parsing for seamless system integration.
API requests support JSON parsing, SSL verification, and comprehensive error handling to ensure reliable integration with external services and APIs.
