Genie creates workspaces, edits them and turns their modules on or off, adds, removes and changes the roles of their members, and creates custom roles. Every change goes through a card that names the workspace.
Workspace administration in Genie is turned on per organization.

The workspace you have open

On a workspace’s page in Settings, Workspaces, “this workspace” means that workspace, not the one you are working in. Elsewhere, name it: “add Ana to Sales as an Editor”.

What Genie can do

Genie also lists the workspaces with their member counts, who is in a workspace with each one’s role, and what a role can do or how two roles differ, as Settings, Roles shows them. Genie refuses before any card when the change cannot go through: someone who is not in your organization, someone already in the workspace, removing yourself, or removing or demoting a workspace’s only Admin.

What stays in Settings

Genie says it cannot do these and tells you where they are done:
  • Organization users: inviting people, changing their organization role or removing them (Settings, Users).
  • API keys: created on the workspace’s API Keys tab. Genie never creates one, since its value would stay in the conversation.
  • Deleting a workspace: from the workspace’s row menu in Settings, Workspaces. It deletes everything inside it.
  • Workspace variables: their values would pass through the conversation.

Examples

  • “Who is in this workspace, and what role does each person have?”
  • “Make Ana an Admin of this workspace.”
  • “Rename this workspace to Revenue and make it green.”
  • “What can an Editor do that a Runner cannot?”
  • “Turn on Case Management for this workspace.”
  • “Create a role called Reviewer that can view and run flows but not edit them.”
See Permissions & Roles for what each role grants.
