Genie builds inboxes and the automations that work their cases. It answers questions about cases and tasks, but the cases themselves are worked by the inbox’s flows and by people, so every change to a case stays on their record. Building runs straight away, since a new inbox is dozens of small steps. Anything that deletes, stops an inbox receiving email or sends a test email waits on a card.
Case management with Genie is turned on per organization.

Setting up an inbox

  • Describe the work, not the form. “Supplier invoices arrive by email; keep only invoices, and capture the vendor, number, amount and due date” becomes an inbox with an address, triage rules and four described properties.
  • Genie adds, changes, reorders, groups and removes properties, with select options, table lookups, table columns and validation rules.
  • The process flow comes from how the work runs: Genie asks who decides what, then builds the flow with a task for each step a person takes.
  • Test it with a test email. Genie reads the case it made and says what landed where.

Cases and tasks

  • “Which invoices are still open?” is answered from the cases themselves; on the cases list, Genie filters and sorts the list on screen.
  • Genie can create a case from what you tell it.
  • Genie does not change, move, reprocess or delete a case, or assign or approve a task. Asked to, it offers to open the case or task, or to change how the inbox’s flows handle every case.

Moving and removing inboxes

  • Export an inbox as a file in the chat. Genie does not import one yet: use Import inbox next to Inboxes in the sidebar.
  • Delete an inbox; the card names it and how many cases go with it.

Examples

  • “Set up a Refund Requests inbox at refunds@ with order number, reason and amount.”
  • “Put the due date first and rename the Details section to Invoice.”
  • “Show me only the urgent open cases.”
  • “Which approvals are still waiting?”
